Deborah and Martin Yaffee are the founders of the new Riverside Healing Arts Center. The Center is located on the Deerfield River in the beautiful New England town of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.
Deborah and Martin have founded The Riverside Healing Arts Center with two main goals in mind: to assist individuals in fulfilling their personal potential and achieving physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being; and to provide a welcoming space for skilled teachers of transformative practices to present their expertise to the public.
Deborah is a certified hypnotherapist and a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. She studied with Calvin Banyan,MA,BCH,CI at the Banyan Hypnosis Center in Minnesota, where she gained expertise in the advanced technique of Five Path(R) Hypnotherapy. She is also a certified Teacher of Seventh Path(TM) Self Hypnosis.
She is the author of "Synergistic Healing with Hypnosis", a regular column appearing in the Banyan Hypnosis Mall Ezine which you can read by going to www.banyanhypnosismall.com and clicking on the Banyan Hypnosis Ezine link.
Deborah has an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Framingham State College, and subsequently received training in Massage, Nutrition, and Elder Recreation Services. She is also a trained facilitator in Centering Prayer and conducts introductory classes in Meditation.
Deborah is an empathic, intuitive and compassionate practitioner. “Becoming a certified hypnotherapist has fulfilled a lifelong passion,” she says, “for helping others to achieve their goals and to discover the wonderful beings that they are.” Deborah is also an ardent activist for the elderly and survivors of abuse.
For those who prefer a more flexible arrangement, Deborah now offers consultation by phone using "Emotional Freedom Technique " (E.F.T.) and the Zero Point Process.
Martin Yaffee holds a masters degree in Music Composition from Harvard University. He studied hypnosis with Dr. Thomas Pirnie DCH, CI, and was certified by the NGH in May, 2007. Martin is an accomplished musician, composer, and artist. He has many years experience serving others as a practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine, while also working as a master baker, chef, pastry chef and culinary arts instructor. His students, clients and friends know him as the embodiment of the Ultimate Mensch: patient, calm, steady, steadfast, gentle, and compassionate in all his pursuits.
Together, Deborah and Martin have been dedicated students of Tibetan Buddhism since 1981. In the 1980’s and 1990’s they were co-proprietors of the much-loved Riverside Restaurant (now closed) and have been happily married for 26 years. Their differing styles and skills not only complement each other, but unite them in their shared intentions and zeal to provide helpful service to all.
